jewellery care
Sterling silver and 9ct solid gold are both metals that can last you a lifetime if cared for well. Sterling silver will eventually develop a natural tarnish from elements of daily life like oxygen, humidity, the skins ph levels and certain soaps and cleaning chemicals.
One of the best ways to keep your jewellery shiny and tarnish free is to keep wearing them. The natural oils from our skin remove any natural tarnishing that can happen over time. Limit the contact your piece has with perfumes, creams and makeup as these substances can accelerate the tarnish sterling silver.
Ensure to remove your jewellery before labour intensive actives like working out, gardening etc to avoid damage and tarnishing to your jewellery.
Cleaning
If your finger goes black after the first wear please note that due to my highly polished work please note there may be remnants of polishing compound on the piece still which may transfer to your skin. This is completely normal with polished fine jewellery and will disappear after a full day of wear.
To clean your jewellery at home, combine mild dishwashing soap and warm water. Soak your jewellery in the soapy water then clean with a soft bristle toothbrush or a soft cloth. A jewellery polishing cloth can also be used.
To clean gemstones please just use a damp clean cloth and wipe them. To avoid scratching them please do not use anything sharp to clean around the setting.
Storage
Your jewellery should be stored individually in a safe, dry & cool place to prevent tarnishing, discolouration, tangling and scratches.
